Museums - Local Heritage:
The Old Castle: classified as a historical monument since 1900, the Old Castle is one of the emblems of the island! The guided tour of this medieval fortress evokes the military architecture of the 14th to 17th centuries and the living conditions on an island under the old regime.
The Citadel: located on the heights of Port-Joinville, it was used alternately as a state prison, a barracks and then as a place of detention for Marshal Pétain from November 1945 to June 1951.
