La Barre de Monts – Fromentine is an authentic seaside village. This village combines the seaside and the marsh, offering marvellous panoramic views.
The maritime culture of the Barre de Monts – Fromentine is that of the inhabitants who love this living nature, and the professional workers of the sea, the many fishermen who leave the authentic little port of Pont Neuf in search of a good meal for dinner but also, and above all, of an incredible iodine adventure.
Museum and Local Heritage :
Le Daviaud: located in the heart of the marsh, Le Daviaud dates back over 30 years. It was given a new lease of life in 2017, with a fresh new look.
You’ll discover a whole new world of poetry and wonder.
Mother Nature, queen of the place, invites you to enter a bucolic universe, in the heart of the marsh, with its rich environment. You’ll wander through 7 stages, discovering incredible flora and fauna: the golden age of salt, the Daviaud farm, Louise’s bourrine, the dancing barn, the attic of memory, the bourrine of flavors and the immersive marsh.

Le Perrier
Between water and fields
The small village of Le Perrier is located 6km from Saint Jean de Monts. It’s the starting point for your marsh walks!
Sail between water and fields aboard a yawl (a typical boat) and discover the secrets the marshes have to offer.
There’s so much to discover here: Preserved flora, atypical fauna (coypu, herons), unrivalled light and the majestic weeping willows that populate the verdant banks make the marsh an intimate place, ideal for romantic strolls.
Soullans
Near Saint-Jean-de-Monts
Just a few kilometers from Saint Jean de Monts, Soullans offers a wide range of activities. Take a stroll through the recently renovated town center. Starting out from Soullans, take one of the five signposted circuits to discover the Soullans marshlands.
Soullans was also the home of painter Charles Milcendeau. Today, his home houses a museum dedicated to him and his friend Jean Yole, a writer and politician from Vendée.
